Dear Families,

I hope you had a nice weekend.

Michelle Filleman has recently sent out an invitation to join us for reading groups on Mondays and Fridays. If you're available, please sign up via this link:

Here are some dates to be aware of:
2/4/17 - Daddy-Daughter Dance - from 6:30-8:30 in the gym.
2/9/17 - Archway Field Day - more information to follow but we will need plenty of volunteers
2/10/17 - Early Release - students will be dismissed at 12:30, teachers have a professional development day.
2/17/17 - Field Trip to the MIM - Musical Instrument Museum, a _limited number of chaperones needed (first come, first served basis).

In Literature, we will continue to be reading the Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

We will have a Math Test this week. Day of the test depends upon which class your student is in.

We have a Science test on Tuesday regarding the first unit of meteorology. Please review the Water Cycle and Cloud types.

In history, students will be completing a brochure for Arizona, highlighting the natural beauty of the state in hopes of convincing others to come visit the state. Students should highlight national parks, national monuments, state parks, or other unique attractions of the state in their brochure. Students may also highlight the native wildlife and plant life. Students should cite either their "Do Arizona" binders, other books checked out from the school/local library or reputable resources on the Internet. We recommend parents assist students in determining which websites are appropriate or reliable. The 6-panel brochure will be due next week Monday, and they will have Wednesday-Friday to work on the project during class time.

Have a wonderful week,

Mr. Leonard
